Freelancing Friends has made my journey of becoming a freelancer so much more enjoyable, at times freelancing can be very lonely and having a strong community of freelancers around you helps a lot. Through Freelancing Friends I’ve been able to meet some incredible freelancers which I hope to work with in the near future. I finally went freelance at the start of this year, and the Freelancing Friends Slack channel has been super helpful, especially in those first few months when I didn’t know if I’d made the right decision. I’d just left a pretty toxic startup & my confidence wasn’t sky high to say the least - it meant a lot to have others who were further along in the self-employed journey to ask for advice. I actually got my first few pieces of work from another member of the Freelancing Friends community too - a copywriter who had more work on than he could tackle alone. That was a huge moment. Since then my business has really picked up and I’m doing well - but I still regularly dip in and seek/give advice and tips. It's a no-brainer for any freelancer, even if you're not someone familiar with how Slack works
